These Terms govern your use of the HomeBase app and website. By using HomeBase, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

HomeBase helps you capture, generate, and organize home-maintenance guides. You describe a task (optionally with photos), and an AI model produces a structured, step-by-step guide. You can use the service signed out (data stored on your device's namespace) or create an account to sync across devices.

AI-generated content — read this carefully

Guides are generated by an AI model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific situation. HomeBase is an informational aid, not professional advice. You are responsible for evaluating any guidance before acting on it.

• Home-maintenance tasks can be dangerous. Work involving electricity, gas, plumbing, structural elements, heights, or specialized tools can cause serious injury, property damage, or death if done incorrectly.
• Always follow manufacturer instructions, local codes, and safety regulations, and consult a licensed professional when a task is beyond your skill or carries risk.
• You assume all risk for any action you take based on a guide. To the fullest extent permitted by law, HomeBase is not liable for outcomes resulting from your use of the generated content.

Your account

If you create an account, you are responsible for the activity that happens under it. Sign in is provided through Google or Apple via our authentication provider. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account in the app.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems.
• Use the service to generate content that is harmful, infringing, or abusive.
• Misuse another user's data or attempt to access an account that is not yours.

Your content

You retain ownership of the descriptions and photos you submit. You grant HomeBase the limited license needed to process that content (including sending it to our AI provider) to provide the service to you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you provide.

Affiliate links

HomeBase may include Amazon affiliate links and, as an Amazon Associate, may earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. Purchases you make on Amazon are subject to Amazon's terms and policies, not ours.

Third-party services

The service relies on third parties (including Anthropic, Stytch, Vercel, Upstash, Apple, Google, and Amazon). Your use of those services through HomeBase may also be subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service or any generated content will be accurate, reliable, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HomeBase and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, property damage, or personal injury, arising out of or related to your use of the service or any generated content.

Changes and termination

We may modify or discontinue the service, or update these Terms, at any time. When we update the Terms, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
